Stand-up poet, armchair revolutionary, comedian and broadcaster, Elvis McGonagall resides at The Graceland Caravan Park somewhere in the middle of nowhere where he scribbles verse whilst drinking Scotch, listening to Johnny Cash and throwing heavy objects at his portable telly.
Two series of his sitcom “Elvis McGonagall Takes A Look On The Bright Side” have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 where he appears regularly as well as popping up occasionally on the television.
Deftly witty, satirical but not afraid to be plain daft, Elvis has been spitting his scabrous diatribes against the powers that be since 2003. And look at the state of the world now. So that’s 14 years of futile ranting.
Elvis McGonagall has suffered for his poetry. Now it’s your turn.
“Elvis McGonagall does not wear specs or a monagall but he looks good and stands up well on stage.” - John Hegley
Velma Von Bon Bon
Endearingly silly and daintily sexual, Velma has been setting stages alight (not literally) since 2009. Recently she has spread her fantastical delights across to Europe, performing in Switzerland and at the International Stockholm Burlesque Festival.
Velma's acts are as unique as her sweet self and guarantee to raise a smile, several in fact, perhaps even the odd belly laugh.
The Sawheads combine the hauntingly ethereal wails of not one, but two musical saws with the energetic wheezing of the concertina. With powerful interpretations of songs ranging from Music Hall to Tom Waits and beyond, The Sawheads are a strangely compelling musical experience, not to be forgotten!
